Aghayere Receives UT Offer

The Lone Star State is chalked full of talent at the defensive end position this year, and the Texas Longhorns have had their eyes set on Garland's Chancey Aghayere for quite sometime. He was in Austin this weekend and left with an offer from Texas. Is he ready to make an early decision?

"It went good. We got to watch the team practice and toured the campus," Chancey Aghayere said. "I got to sit down with Coach Giles, Coach Kennedy and Coach Brown. He (Mack Brown) told me that he liked the way I played. He asked if I think I can play, and I told him I can."

Aghayere now holds offers from four Big 12 powerhouses: Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Texas Tech. He doesn't have a clear cut favorite at this point in time and plans on waiting a little while longer before making a decision.

"I am still waiting it out a little bit," Aghayere said. "I will probably decide on my birthday, September 17th."

Aghayere liked the atmosphere in Austin. He was seen laughing and talking with the coaches on the practice field.

"They are all down to earth," Aghayere said about the Texas coaches and players. "The players really want to get to know you."

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Aghayere recorded 60 tackles and four sacks on his way to earning all-district honors as a junior. He was recently ranked the ninth best prospect in the pre-evaluation Texas Top 100.
