Alfred Dupree: Getting Big Offers

Skyline's Alfred Dupree is one of the elite defensive ends in the Dallas area. It's no surprise that he has already received five offers from various schools. Dupree has yet to receive an offer from any of the ‘Big Three' in Texas, but is getting plenty of attention from other major programs, including three Big 10 schools.

"It's going pretty good," Alfred Dupree said. "I got offers from Baylor, Purdue, Minnesota, Alabama and Wisconsin. I think that is about it."

Dupree and Skyline teammates Spencer Reeves and Keanon Cooper all three have offers from both Alabama and Minnesota. This comes as no surprise. Both schools have new head coaches in Nick Saban at Alabama and Tim Brewster at Minnesota. Both coaches know the Texas area well. Brewster is a former tight ends coach at Texas and Saban recruited the Lone Star State while at LSU.

Dupree has been to junior days at Oklahoma and Texas A&M. He came away very impressed with the facilities in College Station over the weekend.

"I went to the Texas A&M junior day last Saturday. It went good," Dupree said. "I like their facilities. Their stadium was real nice and they had one of the best locker rooms I have seen."

Dupree was scheduled to make the trip to Austin for Texas' first junior day on February 11th with Reeves and Cooper, but something came up at the last minute. He is in the process of trying to make arrangements to visit Texas at a later date.

"I wanted to go to Texas' junior day on the 24th, but I didn't find out about it until Sunday. I called the coaches and left a message to see if I could come down and check things out, but they never called back," Dupree said.

Kids in Texas tend to commit quicker than in any other state. However, Dupree is still weighing his options and is still wide open as far as recruiting goes.

"I don't know yet. I haven't sat down and thought about it. I need more information from the schools before I decide," Dupree said.
