DeSean Hales: Still Open?

With Texas' 2008 class on the brink of filling up, the Longhorn coaches have set their sights on a number of high caliber prospects, including Klein, Texas wide receiver DeSean Hales. Many among the Longhorn faithful held their breath this weekend as Hales made a trip up to Norman to visit Oklahoma. Did the Sooner visit sway the potential five-star prospect?

"It was nice. I enjoyed the campus. I got to meet the coaches. I really enjoyed it," Desean Hales said about his trip to Oklahoma. "They gave me a tour of it (Business School). I got to look at the whole academic center. I just got a packet from Texas. I didn't get a chance to look closely at it because we got there late."

Despite the glowing report from his visit over the weekend, Hales has still yet to name a favorite. He has visited four out of his top five schools and found something special about each one.

"Right now, I'm still pretty open," Hales said. "I noticed the different personalities and characters of each school. But as far as everything else, they run everything about the same."

"From what I have seen of Texas, I enjoyed everything. I liked the coaches. I liked getting to watch them practice and everything else I saw."

"With Oklahoma, I really liked the campus. Everything is close together. You can just walk from place to place on campus. I am glad I got to see the business program part too."

"With LSU, there is a lot of history. I got to look at their facilities. They do a good job with all of their stuff."

"With A&M, it was a really friendly place. I liked their facilities. I got to talk to the coaching staff. It was nice. It was a really nice place."

Hales still has one visit left the take. He plans on visiting Texas Tech before making a decision.

"It might be a little while. I am going to take a few weeks off and relax a little," Hales said.
