Schools Readying to Check Out Ibiloye

South Garland safety Joseph Ibiloye is one of the hottest uncommitted prospects in the state of Texas right now. After a good showing at the combine in Valley Ranch, he is now getting ready for spring practice. Several elite schools have promised to come out and see what Ibiloye can bring to the table, including the Texas Longhorns.

"A whole bunch of coaches have said that they are going to come down during the spring," Joseph Ibiloye said. "After all of the schools come through and I get to talk to the coaches, I will probably narrow it down to five, so that I can commit during the season."

Some of the schools that are expected to make the trip down to Garland include Michigan, Oklahoma State, Minnesota, Texas A&M, TCU and Oklahoma. The Texas Longhorns are also scheduled to be present.

"They told me that they are still evaluating me. They said they were coming down sometime during the spring to watch me play," Ibiloye said of the Texas coaches.

Texas originally had plans to move Ibiloye from his natural position of safety to outside linebacker. However, the Longhorns have started looking at out-of-state prospects and Ibiloye hasn't heard from them in a while.

"Not lately," Ibiloye replied when asked if he had talked to the Texas coaches recently. "Coach (Bobby) Kennedy is usually the guy that I talk to. Him and coach (Larry) Mac Duff."

Ibiloye currently holds offers from Central Florida, Baylor, TCU, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M. He attended junior days at both Texas and Oklahoma State and is planning on visiting Norman in the near future.

"I am supposed to be visiting OU next weekend with my coach on a little unofficial or whatever," Ibiloye said.

Ibiloye has yet to visit Oklahoma and seemed pretty excited about his upcoming visit.

"I haven't checked it out yet," Ibiloye said of OU. "I really haven't been anywhere outside of a junior day, and I have been to a bunch of those. It should be a different kind of experience."

Ibiloye had originally planned on committing somewhere before the end of his junior year, but his plans have changed.

"I think I originally told you that I was going to commit during spring, but I am going to wait until the season to commit," Ibiloye said.
