Garland, Texas defensive end Chancey Aghayere continues to be one of the most sought after prospects in the entire nation. He has picked up three new offers in the past three weeks raising his offer total to 15. Will these new offers have an effect on his decision?

Baseball:

It doesn't get much tougher for the Longhorns to end the season. First-place Texas hosts second-place Missouri in a three-game series this weekend in Austin...Texas closes out the season with a three-game series against Texas A&M May 18-20.

Football:

Cotton Bowl likely to host Tech-OSU

Hot on the heels of a contract extension for the Texas-Oklahoma series, Dallas officials are close to bringing two more Big 12 universities to the Cotton Bowl – Texas Tech and Oklahoma State. The contract would start in 2008, and the Tech-OSU game would be held in conjunction with the State Fair of Texas, according to two sources close to the negotiations. The game would probably extend into 2009, giving each school an opportunity to be the home team.

Improvement in academic progress is being made in football and baseball, but not in men's basketball, according to NCAA officials who released the latest round of Academic Progress Rate figures for their member schools on Wednesday.

Women's hoops:

Coaching staff update

It looks like new women's coach Gail Goestenkors won't be bringing any more of her former assistants with her to Austin. Goestenkors hired Gale Valley, who had been on her staff for 15 years, earlier this week. But Shannon Perry, another assistant under Goestenkors, will stay at Duke and join the staff of new Blue Devils coach, Joanne McCallie.
