Joseph Ibiloye: Ready to Narrow Things Down
South Garland safety Joseph Ibiloye was one of the most impressive prospects in attendance at Texas' second junior day in late February. However, the Longhorn coaching staff didn't make much of an attempt to contact Ibiloye after his visit. It appeared that Texas had lost interest, but this was far from the truth.

The Texas-Central Florida football game set for Sept. 15 will kick off at 2:30 p.m. and be telecast by ESPN2.


Aggies' Feltner hopes to steal Longhorns' thunder

Ben Feltner's baseball career should have been over long ago. It should have vanished into thin air, along with the dreams of being an astronaut or Michael Jordan. After all, high school baseball players who hit .200 and never start for a full season don't play Division I college baseball. Somehow, though, Feltner will be on the field this weekend when Texas takes on Texas A&M in a three-game series.

Alaniz and Suttle earn Academic All-Big 12 honors
University of Texas junior Adrian Alaniz and sophomore Bradley Suttle were named to the 2007 Academic All-Big 12 First-Team the league announced on Tuesday.


Cities make pitches for the sites and sounds of Big 12

In between rounds of golf at the upcoming spring meetings May 21-25 -- just kidding guys -- Big 12 officials will consider several items of business that could have long-term implications for three championship events. Technically, eight entities have submitted proposals to host the championship football game and the men's and women's basketball tournaments for up to five years, a concept first approved for consideration during the Big 12 basketball tournaments in Oklahoma City in early March.
