They didn't need errors this time. They didn't need late-inning heroics or suspense. The Longhorns just needed to play baseball. After winning two pressure-filled games Friday and Saturday, Texas came back Sunday and completed a sweep of No. 9 Texas A&M, finishing the most dominant regular-season run in Big 12 history with a 9-1 victory in front of 4,994 fans at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

San Antonio Express-News
In the bottom of the eighth inning of a blowout game, a sardonic Texas fan played "Taps" for Texas A&M from somewhere beyond Disch-Falk Field's outfield fence. In truth, the Aggies were finished long before then. The best thing A&M can say about itself after Sunday is that it didn't blow another lead to its rival. This time, the regular-season champion Longhorns pounded the Aggies throughout. Fifth-ranked UT earned its second sweep of ninth-ranked A&M in as many years with a 9-1 victory before 4,994 content fans.

The play that Texas A&M right fielder Brodie Greene couldn't make allowed the Texas Longhorns to break out the brooms early on their rivals. One inning after he gunned down Chais Fuller at the plate to preserve a scoreless game, Greene was unable to catch Bradley Suttle's double off the wall in the fourth for UT. Texas took advantage, scoring six runs in the inning on the way to a 9-1 win Sunday at Disch-Falk Field.

After the Texas Longhorns won their second straight Big 12 regular season title Saturday, Texas coach Augie Garrido expressed his regards for what Aggie coach Rob Childress and his staff have done at Texas A&M. Following a 9-1 victory Sunday at Disch-Falk Field to sweep the three-game series, Garrido reserved all his praise for the Longhorn players.
