Thomas Ashcraft: Big Summer Ahead
Cedar Hill offensive lineman Thomas Ashcraft was one of the most successful in-state sophomores on the field last year. He started every game for a very talented Longhorn squad who marched through the playoffs on their way to a 5A state title. The big Texan already has a good idea of the schools he will take strong interest in and has a big summer planned.

Inside Texas Blog: Comparing Champions
Heading into the Big 12 Tournament, Augie Garrido's Horns, at 42-14 overall, appear to be a virtual lock for one of the top eight national seeds in the NCAA Tournament, ensuring a "home" path to a College World Series berth. Dallas Morning News
In an age when the bulky physique of home run hitters is instantly questioned, Texas outfielder Kyle Russell has no such problem. Russell has demolished UT's season home run record while helping his team win the Big 12 regular-season title and is listed at 6-5 and only 185 pounds.

What's in a name? Balbay spells relief
San Antonio Express-News
No matter how you pronounce it, Texas basketball fans should get used to the name. Earlier this week, Dogus Balbay signed a binding letter of intent to become a Longhorn, becoming a late addition to what is now a four-member 2007 recruiting class. He's an important pick-up for coach Rick Barnes, who until this week boasted just one true point guard on his roster.

New Orleans Times-Picayune
