Webb, Watts to Transfer

AUSTIN, Texas - Two Longhorn football players have left the team and elected to transfer, they both confirmed on Thursday. They are offensive tackles J'Marcus Webb and Roy Watts.

"We appreciate everything that J'Marcus and Roy did for our football program," said Mack Brown. "They are nice young men who told us that they had a great experience but felt their best opportunity for more playing time was to transfer. We wish them both the best of luck in the future."

J'Marcus Webb played in 12 games at offensive tackle as a true freshman last season. The North Mesquite High School graduate worked at both right and left tackle as well as special teams.

"It was a very difficult decision but one I feel is in my best interest," Webb said. "If I want to have an opportunity to play more my best chance is to transfer. Everyone has been very supportive at Texas and I'll always be pulling for them."

Roy Watts spent last season working with the scout team while redshirting. A graduate of Worthing High School in Houston, he worked primarily at right tackle.

"My goal is to earn more playing time and I think the best chance at that is to go somewhere else," said Watts. "I had a great time at UT and I'll always be a fan, but it's best for me to get a fresh start somewhere else."
