Dayton QB Checks Out Austin

Dayton High School's Cody Green will likely be one of the most exciting quarterbacks in the Lone Star State next year. He put together a solid sophomore season for the Broncos and has already started to get a feel for the recruiting process through camp visits. Green visited Texas over the weekend and had some good things to say about the coaches and campus in Austin.

"I did," Cody Green replied when asked if he had a good time in Austin. "We got to throw to the receivers and mainly did some one-on-one stuff."

On top of getting to work on his overall game, Green also got an opportunity to speak with the majority of the Longhorn coaching staff during his visit.

"I talked to all of them (coaches)," Green said. "They are all top notch."

Green didn't get much of an opportunity to look around campus while he was in Austin, but he was very impressed with the athletic facilities at the University of Texas.

"We just got to see the athletic facilities. That is all we got to see. It's pretty awesome," Green said about UT's facilities.

Green was just one of a number of quarterbacks trying to impress the Longhorn coaches over the weekend. Which other 2009 quarterback caught Green's eye?

"Jacob Harem," Green said. "He is a quarterback from Friendswood.

Green has also attended camp at U of H and Texas A&M. He had a good time in Austin, but still has yet to name a favorite.

"Right now, I really don't know," Green replied when asked if anybody has taken an early lead. "They (Texas, Houston and Texas A&M) all have quarterbacks that will be graduating by the time I get there, so it's kind of a toss up."

The 6-foot-5, 205-pound Green is also planning on attending camp at LSU before the end of the summer.
