When the Dayton Broncos take the field for the 2007 season, they will have plenty of weapons on the offensive side of the ball. Cody Green will likely be one of the most celebrated in-state quarterbacks in the 2009 class, but what is a quarterback without a good receiver? A.J. Dugat put together a great sophomore year and will look to improve upon that in 2007.
Dayton wide receiver A.J. Dugat put together an outstanding sophomore campaign catching 47 passes for 856 yards. He also returned three punts back for touchdowns on his way to earning first team all-district and newcomer of the year honors. Dugat and teammate Cody Green
were just a couple of the 2009 prospects that were scheduled to attend camp at UT last weekend. Green made it down to Austin, but Dugat did not attend.
"I've been to camp at U of H, but that is the only camp I have been to," Dugat said.
Despite not making it down to the 40 Acres, Dugat did mention Longhorns as one of his top schools along with several others in or around the state of Texas.
"U of H, Tulane, LSU and Texas," Dugat said. "I like those schools because they are all powerhouses in football."
Dugat has already attended a camp for freshmen and sophomore at the University of Houston and is planning on returning on July 20th for their junior and senior camp.
"On July 20th, I am going to U of H," Dugat said. "The first camp that I went to was their freshman and sophomore camp. This camp is for juniors and seniors."
The 6-foot, 185-pound Dugat runs the 40-yard in 4.5 seconds. What does he consider the best part of his game?
"I have great vision," Dugat said.
