Antoine Hicks: Big Expectations for WR Group

With six junior and senior wide receivers on the roster, the Texas coaches made the receiver position a top priority in the ‘08 class. And with commitments from the likes of Dan Buckner, DeSean Hales and Antoine Hicks, the Horns have already put together a strong group of pass catchers. Hicks talked about his experience at UT's summer camp and his expectations for the wide receiver commits.

Mansfield Timberview quarterback Antoine Hicks got a chance to work out at both wide receiver and quarterback during camp. However, he spent most of his time at receiver where he projects to play at UT.

"Yeah, I did," Hicks replied when asked if he had a good time at Texas' summer camp. "The best part was just meeting with all of the players who have committed."

Two of the most personable commitments in Texas' 2008 class are Dan Buckner and Aaron Williams. Buckner and Williams also aren't scared to talk a little smack in one-on-one drills. Hicks enjoyed hanging out with both guys throughout the camp.

"Dan Buckner and Aaron Williams," Hicks replied when asked who he enjoyed hanging out with the most. "They are both really funny people."

At this point in time, Texas has three four-star wide receivers on their commit list in Hales, Buckner and Hicks. Each receiver brings a different skill set to the football field, but together they could be extremely dangerous on the next level.

"I think we can do some special things, especially on the receiving side of things. Most of the starters are going to be gone when we get there. I think we might struggle for awhile, but once we get into the motions and everything, I think we can be very, very good," Hicks said.
