Kheeston Randall: Coaches Impressed

Monsignor Kelly defensive tackle Kheeston Randall made a huge splash when he committed to the University of Texas back in February. Not many people had heard of him before his commitment, but since then he has shot up the rankings. Randall attended Texas' summer camp two weekends ago and talked about the experience.

"Yes sir, I went," Kheeston Randall said. "It was a blast."

Texas' 2008 class appears to be a very tight knit group. Like just about every other commitment, Randall praised the 2008 class and enjoyed meeting his fellow commitments.

"The best part was just meeting all the commitments," Randall said.

Texas only has two defensive lineman commitments in its current class, and both happen to be defensive tackles. Jarvis Humphrey and Randall got a chance to hang out during camp, and Randall had some good things to say about Humphrey.

"Jarvis," Randall said when asked if he connected with any of the other prospects at camp. "Both of us are going to be D-tackles. We talked a little while. He is pretty interesting."

Another prospect that impressed Randall was David Snow when they got a chance to go up against one another in one-on-one drills.

"All of the commitments did really good," Randall said. "Offensively, David Snow really impressed me. He was pretty good. He is a big dude."

Randall was satisfied with the work he put in throughout the duration of the camp. The Texas coaches also came away surprised with what he had to offer.

"I think they were (impressed). They said that I had a good showing and they were pretty surprised," Randall said. "They just talked to me about my stance and my shoulders. I learned a lot."
