Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds said Wednesday officials have not formally discussed retiring the No. 35 jersey of basketball star Kevin Durant. Dodds, however, expects it to happen in time because Durant fits the school's criteria by winning the national player of the year award in his sport.
Augustin gets assist from Texas legend
Texas point guard D.J. Augustin didn't need to enter the NBA Draft to get a taste of what to expect at the next level. Augustin is spending the summer playing pickup games against former Longhorns who have returned to campus. That allows him to match up every day against Toronto Raptors point guard and former Wooden Award winner T.J. Ford.
DeMoss joins UT women's basketball staff
University of Texas women's basketball coach Gail Goestenkors completed her staff Tuesday with the hiring of Mickie DeMoss, head coach at the University of Kentucky from 2003-07 and an associate head coach at The University of Tennessee from 1985-2003.
