"Oh yeah," Lipscomb replied when asked if he was having a good summer. "I've gotten bigger, faster and stronger."
With both Russell Shepard and Lipscomb in the fold, Cypress Ridge definitely has its fair share of speed in the backfield. In fact, Lipscomb showed his speed during track season this year winning the 100-meter championship in his district. Despite his reputation as a scat back, Lipscomb feels like he brings the total package to the football field.
"I feel like I'm an all-around back," Lipscomb said. "I've been working on my acceleration, and I feel like I've improved that. I'm looking forward to a big junior year. I feel like I can do it all."
Lipscomb hasn't attended any summer camps so far this year, but two teams have already started to stick out to him.
"I've just been working out and attending summer conditioning," Lipscomb said. "I got an invitation to go to an LSU camp, but I didn't make it because of a family reunion."
"I'm really waiting for LSU to start recruiting me. I have already met their coach," Lipscomb added. "I get a lot of letters from Florida and a whole bunch of letters from Arkansas and Oklahoma State, but the two main schools I like are LSU and Oklahoma. I like Oklahoma because they always produce the backs. If USC tries to come after me, I'll definitely consider them too."
Where does Texas fit into the picture?
"I know UT is interested in me. They invited me to one of their one day camps and have my info on their website," Lipscomb said.
