Longhorn fans haven't had to keep up with much on the recruiting front over the past three months, but one of the major questions entering into their minds focused on when Salt Lake City, Utah linebacker Lynn Katoa would make it to Austin for a visit. That wait is now over. Inside Texas spoke with Katoa Wednesday night as he drove towards Austin.
"Yes," Lynn Katoa
replied when asked about his visit to UT. "I'm actually on the way to Austin right now. I just got out of DFW. I'm visiting the campus tomorrow."
This visit has been a long time in waiting for Katoa and the Texas Longhorn fans and coaches. His first trip was postponed because of a bad case of strep throat. He was also scheduled to visit two weeks ago, but family obligations hindered that trip as well.
"I've been waiting for this for a long time," Katoa said about the Texas visit. "I'm excited about meeting the coaches, players and seeing the facilities."
Katoa also mentioned trying to visit Texas A&M after the UT visit. The five-star linebacker is still considering Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Miami, Wisconsin, LSU and Florida.
Katoa, who carries a 3.2 GPA and a 17 ACT score, is expected to receiver a scholarship offer once he meets Mack Brown and the Longhorn coaching staff. Texas remains the only one of his top schools that has not given him a scholarship offer.
