Texas No. 4 in Preseason AP Poll

The first AP poll for the 2007 season has been released and the Texas Longhorns are No. 4.

Not surprisingly, the USC Trojans were again picked No. 1 in the country, receiving 62 of 65 possible first place votes. Two of the three remaining first place votes went to the LSU Tigers, who come in at No. 2, while the final first place vote went to No. 3 West Virginia.

Texas comes in at No. 4. The Longhorns are ranked fourth in both the preseason AP and Coaches' polls. Michigan rounds out the Top 5 and defending champ Florida is sixth.

Three other Big 12 schools crack the Top 25. Oklahoma is No. 8, Nebraska is No. 20 and Texas A&M once again just makes the cut at 25.

The Longhorns' September 8th opponent, TCU, is also in the preseason Top 25 at No. 22.
