Dexter Pratt: Offers on the Way

Navasota, Texas running back Dexter Pratt burst onto the scene during 7-on-7's this summer and has quickly become one of the top prospects in the '09 class. Pratt has great versatility on the football field and could likely play either running back or linebacker on the next level. It's still unsure where Pratt will line up in college, but he will definitely bring in a number of offers on Sept 1.

"He (Dexter Pratt) is an outstanding athlete and an outstanding tail back," Navasota Head Coach Lee Fedora said. "He will have some early offers coming in on September 1."

Pratt already has all the physical tools to be an outstanding athlete on the next level. At 6-foot-3, 225-pounds, he runs a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash and has a 41-inch vertical, according to Fedora. But how does that pan out on the football field?

"He is a very strong explosive kid," Fedora said. "He is a big force to bring down with the ball in his hands. He also has outstanding football knowledge.

"There is no doubt. He is the best back I have ever coached. He is the total package," Fedora added. "He has unbelievable hands out of the backfield. He's got great speed and explosiveness. I definitely think that he will be one of the top backs in the state."

Pratt attended two mini-day camps over the summer at Texas and Oklahoma State, and it appears that the Big 12 schools are already poised and ready to go after him on September 1.

"He had a great time," Fedora replied when asked about Pratt's visit to UT's summer camp. "He also went to Oklahoma State's one-day camp. There are going to be a lot of Big 12 schools after him."
