Gideon made a stop in Austin for summer camp. He didn't get the opportunity to work out with the other commits, but he did get familiar with some of the guys he will be playing alongside in the coming years.
"I had just got back from vacation during Texas' mini-day camp. I spoke with Coach Brown and Coach Davis. They told me not to worry about working out. They just wanted me to get to know some of my future teammates and just take everything in," Gideon said.
"I know the majority of the commits. I have played in games against some of them and have actually played other sports with some of the guys from the Austin area. I'm excited. We have a great group of guys, and I'm looking forward to what they are going to bring to the University of Texas," Gideon added.
One thing is for sure, Gideon is very excited about his future at UT, and he is still 100% solid with the Longhorns.
"I'm 100% Texas right now," Gideon said. "I've been a Texas fan all my life. I can't ever remember rooting for another team. I always told myself that if the opportunity came around, I wasn't going to hesitate. The Lord has blessed me with a great opportunity at the University of Texas. All I want is a chance."
