Jamie Collins Interested in UT?

The quarterback pool inside the state of Texas may be deeper than ever in 2009, but the latest signal caller to be mentioned in Longhorn recruiting circles hails from Mississippi. Franklin County athlete Jamie Collins is already drawing major attention from SEC schools, but how interested are the Longhorns?

"Not hard, but I've gotten a few letters," Jamie Collins said when asked how hard the Longhorns recruiting him.

Collins admitted that he didn't know much about Texas, but he has heard about the team unity on the 40 Acres.

"I like the way they play as a team," Collins said. "I know that they recruit good people."

Collins currently holds offers from Ole Miss and Auburn. He has been to Ole Miss for camp and for several games this year. The Rebels could possibly have the inside track at this point in time.

"I like the coaches and some of the players there," Collins said. "It's a really good environment."

As a sophomore, Collins threw for 1,200 yards and rushed for another 890 on his way to helping Franklin County win state. He is being recruited at both wide receiver and quarterback, but Collins would like to be under center on the next level.

"I'd rather play quarterback." Collins said.
