Hybl has thrown 148 passes without an interception, including last year's Cotton Bowl win against Arkansas. He has completed 69-of-116 passes for 1,014 yards in five games. (By comparison, QB Chris Simms has connected on 92-of-164 attempts for 1,161 yards)
"Nate's done a really good job at quarterback," Mack Brown said. "One of the things they've done offensively is they've protected the ball well. They're better in the turnover margin than we are, and that's what won the game for them last year."
DEs Cory Redding, Kalen Thornton or Bryan Pickryl are as likely to get to Hybl as is Tubbs. But, given last year's turn-of-events, it wouldn't hurt for Mister Tubbs to greet Hybl with an early calling card. On an OU squad that appears to have no defensive weaknesses, the difference in this game could be which quarterback gets rattled first.
