Poll Report: Up Four Spots

Texas bounced back in the polls Sunday after taking care of business on the field Saturday in Ames with a 56-3 win over Iowa State. The Horns moved from No. 23 to No. 19 in the Associated Press poll and from No. 22 to No. 18 in the USA Today coaches poll.

The craziness in college football continued this weekend, leading to another shuffling of the top 10. Ohio State, which started the season outside the top 10, finds itself in the No. 1 spot and in the driver's seat for a berth in the BCS Championship Game. But the last two Saturdays have seen the No. 1 team go down to an underdog (USC to Stanford two weeks ago and LSU to Kentucky this past weekend), so the Buckeyes better watch out this weekend vs. Michigan State.

Perhaps even more interesting are the teams breathing down the Buckeyes' neck. Undefeateds South Florida and Boston College are flip-flopped in the Nos. 2 and 3 spots in the polls. Talk about BCS busters!

Oklahoma comes in at No. 4 in both polls as the highest-ranked one-loss team and the Big 12's lone top 10 rep. Undefeated Kansas, the surprise of the season in the league, is the next highest-ranked Big 12 squad at No. 15 in both polls. Missouri fell from the ranks of the undefeated Saturday in Norman, and fell into a tie with Kansas at No. 15 in the AP and to the No. 17 spot in the coaches poll. After throttling the hapless Aggies, Texas Tech makes it 2007 poll debut at No. 22 in the AP and No. 21 in the coaches poll. Kansas State slipped into the AP poll at No. 25.

Former No. 1 LSU fell to No. 5 in both polls.

Five teams -- Ohio State, South Florida, BC, LSU and undefeated Arizona State -- received at least one first-place vote in the AP poll.
