Dexter Pratt: Wide Open

Navasota, Texas athlete Dexter Pratt has the versatility to be a bruising tail back or a hard-hitting linebacker on the next level. Point blank, the kid can play. Pratt has already received two written offers and another could be on the way very soon.

"I have an offer from Oklahoma State and Texas A&M," Dexter Pratt said. "Nebraska has been talking about it."

Pratt has visited both Oklahoma State and Texas A&M this year. His visit to Stillwater came during the summer and he checked out College Station on opening weekend.

"I went to Texas A&M for the Montana State game," Pratt said. "It was nice. The game wasn't that good, but the atmosphere was."

Pratt's only other visits this year came in Austin. He attended UT's summer camp, and checked out the game day atmosphere at the 40 Acres when the Longhorns defeated TCU.

"I went to Texas when they played TCU," Pratt said. "I liked how they came together and played as a team. The atmosphere was great, and I met a lot of nice people."

"The visits were about the same," Pratt added. "I just liked the Texas game better."

Despite the early interest from these Big 12 schools, Pratt is still wide open.

"I don't even know," Pratt replied when asked about the schools he was going to take a hard look at. "Of course, I'm going to look at Texas A&M and Oklahoma State."

Pratt also mentioned Oklahoma, USC, Nebraska, West Virginia, Notre Dame and Texas as schools that he will likely be interested in.

Navasota is off to a great start so far this year and Pratt has been a huge part of their success. He has carried the ball 80 times for 792 yards in 2007.

"We are 5-1 right now. We lost our first game, but since then we have been rolling," Pratt said. "I have been hurt the last two games with a hip pointer, but I think I will be ready to go this Friday."
