Culpepper's Commentary: Nebraska Game
InsideTexas.com
Competition is a wonderful thing. Take Jamaal Charles, who one week ago became one of the three running backs used by the Longhorns against Baylor. It was plain to see Chris Ogbonnaya and Vondrell McGee would be in the mix. Of the three, who would step up?

Gundy: Oklahoma State won't blitz like Nebraska
Dallas Morning News
Nebraska blitzed Texas 75 percent of the time during a 28-25 Longhorns victory last Saturday, but Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy said the Cowboys won't do the same this week against UT in Stillwater.

Shot at reaching BCS bowl game remains
San Antonio Express-News
Texas in a BCS bowl game: Bet you didn't think you'd be hearing those words any time soon, or at least not this season. Losses to Kansas State and Oklahoma derailed those hopes. Or did they? Maybe not.

Oklahoma St. rolling ever since Gundy's infamous meltdown
San Antonio Express-News
Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy openly talked before the season about how his program was poised to make a national splash. Early losses at Georgia and Troy were bad enough in a disappointing 1-2 start. But Gundy's "YouTube" moment when he ranted at an Oklahoma City columnist was the low point of what was supposed to be the Cowboys' breakout campaign. Fast forward a month later, and things have changed dramatically. And the Cowboys' chance to fulfill Gundy's early promise still is clearly in front of them.

Can UT stop the OSU run game?
Oklahoman
Something has to give. Texas has been solid stopping the run. And, in recent weeks, Oklahoma State has compiled big rushing totals. The most pivotal matchup Saturday afternoon at Boone Pickens Stadium will be the Longhorn run defense matched against OSU's many running threats — Dantrell Savage, Kendall Hunter and Zac Robinson.

The Silent Assassin
InsideTexas.com
Things have been very quiet on the recruiting front for Giddings athlete Brock Fitzhenry since he committed to the Texas Longhorns back in February, but he has been making plenty of noise with his play on the football field. Fitzhenry has helped lead Giddings High School to an undefeated record and a No. 1 ranking in 3A.

Augustin needs to step up for Texas
FOXSports.com
It was D.J. against T.J. every single day for two straight months in Austin this summer. D.J. Augustin, the Texas sophomore point guard who will take the reigns now that Kevin Durant is gone, would show up for pick-up and immediately was well-aware of his assignment. He was to chase T.J. Ford around for four hours a day. "It was the best experience I've ever had," said the 6-foot, 180-pound Augustin. "He just kept coming at me. It's changed my game." That's what happens when you go up against the guy that basically put Texas hoops on the map.
