Ryan Roberson: Enjoying Strong Sr. Season

Brenham's Ryan Roberson is one of the most versatile recruits in the state of Texas. He has the ability to play both fullback and linebacker on the next level, but it doesn't matter to him where he plays as long as he is on the field. IT caught up with Roberson to get his current thoughts on Texas and his senior season.

"It's going real good," Ryan Roberson said of his senior season. "We went 6-2 in district play and won district last Friday."

Brenham has become a powerhouse in 3A, producing nearly a dozen Division I prospects in the last two years. However, they were bounced early in the playoffs last year, something that Roberson hopes won't happen again.

"We should (go deep into the playoffs)," Roberson said. "It all depends on how well we play. We just have to stay coachable."

Roberson committed to the University of Texas back in February after the Longhorn's first junior day. Since then, he has been a regular at UT home game and still claims to be very solid in his commitment.

"I go to all their home game," Roberson said. "I love the tradition down there. I love everything about it. The coaches treat you like a son, and that is one of the reasons I committed to UT."

According to Roberson, it is still up in the air as to where he will line up at the next level. He has the skill set to play fullback or linebacker and he could get a shot at both.

"It doesn't matter to me where I play," Roberson said. "The coaches are telling me that it all depends on me. They are going to try me at linebacker and at fullback. We will just have to wait and see."

Roberson is planning on finishing out his senior year at Brenham before enrolling at UT during summer '08. He has plans to play basketball and possibly run track during his last semester at Brenham.
