Texas RB Jamaal Charles will return for his senior season, a reliable source close to Charles told Inside Texas Wednesday. In addition, the Houston Chronicle reported online that Charles said Wednesday that he intends to return.
A Meeting With Mack
Mack lays it on the line. Away from lights and cameras of the weekly press conference, Texas head coach Mack Brown discusses with beat reporters his post-game talk with Mike Leach, the problems in pass defense, the depth on the offensive line and lays out, in great length, exactly why the starting linebackers are still starting and have not given way to the young back-ups.
The Inside Texas Podcast
Despite all the ups and downs and struggles, the Texas Longhorns are 9-2 and sitting just outside the BCS. Inside Texas' Ross and Ross discuss how this improbable set of circumstances came to pass, what can be learned from the win over Texas Tech, Mike Leach's whining and what this past weekend means for the upcoming game against Texas A&M.
Texas vows to remember
Longhorns don't want a repeat of last year's A&M game, which knocked them out of the Big 12 title game and a prestigious bowl berth.
Texas Tech coach hurt team by airing it out
Dallas Morning News
When Texas Tech football coach Mike Leach says that Big 12 officials were biased in Saturday's game with Texas in Austin, the thinking man's coach has afforded his players a cheap, irrational out, which is what most kids want when times are tough.
'Horns back won't tolerate letdown
Fort Worth Star-Telegram
Texas tailback Jamaal Charles issued a wake-up call Wednesday to teammates who might be inclined to coast in preparations for next week's regular-season finale against Texas A&M. In essence, Charles said the Longhorns adopted that approach last season and paid for it with a 12-7 loss. The Big 12's leading rusher stressed Wednesday that he's willing to confront teammates if he detects a similar stupor in workouts before the Nov. 23 contest in College Station.
Brown can relate to Franchione's situation

Tucker Talks Army Bowl, Texas Tech Game
It's no secret that Austin Westlake kicker Justin Tucker is one of the best in the country at his position. He is also one of the most likeable commits in UT current '08 class. Tucker was at the Texas Tech game on Saturday and he left impressed with the number of recruits in attendance.

Preview: Texas vs. Lamar
After win, Lamar next in line for Longhorns
No. 22 Texas will look to build on the momentum of its season-opening 92-55 thrashing of Missouri State tonight when the 0-1 Lamar Cardinals come to town. The Longhorns are in a transition period. The players are getting used to new coach Gail Goestenkors' trapping and pressing style, while at the same time adjusting to the loss of last season's leading scorer, forward Tiffany Jackson.
Lack of support for women a glaring blemish fans should choose to rectify
As you probably could tell just by casually reading The Daily Texan the last few weeks, the Gail Goestenkors era is underway at Texas. That point has been made perfectly clear. You know, the head coach who turned Duke into a powerhouse, while accumulating the third-highest winning percentage among active Division I coaches, has come to coach the Longhorns. Based on the turnout at the Erwin Center last Sunday afternoon, it appeared the fans were still in the forgettable years of the Jody Conradt era (i.e., the last two years).
Saving goals - and scoring some
Texas soccer goalkeeper Dianna Pfenninger owns the UT record for wins, but her lively foot helped propel the Longhorns into the NCAAs
Texas kicks off NCAA tourney
Thanks to an NCAA tournament bracket that has left some fans a disappointed, the No. 10 Longhorns will face a tougher path to the College Cup than most. Texas is one of 10 top-25 teams in its region of the bracket, by far the most of any of the other three regions. To add insult to injury, despite holding the third-highest rank in the region, Texas was not granted one of the region's four seeds and will be forced to play in College Station, home of rival Texas A&M, for the first two rounds. If Texas wants to win its first ever national championship, it's going to be a tough road.
