Nolan Brewster: Still Solid?

It's almost a given in college football recruiting that at least one or two early commits will change their minds and decide to roll with another program. The Texas Longhorns have already experienced this once in the 2008 class when Riley Dodge decided to play for his father at North Texas. Rumors have been surfacing as of late that Nolan Brewster might follow suit. Are these rumors true?

Mullen High School safety Nolan Brewster strongly denied the rumors on Tuesday night.

Are you still solid with Texas?

"Yeah, definitely," Brewster said.

Is their any truth to the rumors that you are possibly leaving the door open to play for your dad (Tim Brewster) at Minnesota?

"No," Brewster said.

Brewster and teammate Bryce Givens will be in Austin this weekend for UT's annual football banquet. This will be Brewster's second visit to the 40 Acres this year and he is excited about getting to know some of his future teammates.

"Yes we are," Brewster said when asked if they were still planning on attending the banquet. "I'm definitely looking forward to it. I look forward to anytime I can get down to Austin. I love Austin, so it's going to be a great time. I guess they are going to have a lot of the in-state commits at the banquet. It's going to be a lot of fun to see some of my future teammates. It should be a great time."

As far as Givens goes, Brewster would love to have him join Texas' 2008 class, but he is simply going to sit back and let the visit speak for itself.

"I want him to come down to Texas, but everything is up to him. I really don't have to say much. I know when he goes down there it's going to speak for itself. I'll be pretty surprised if he doesn't like what he sees," Brewster said.
