DeSean Hales: Prepping for All-America Game

ORLANDO -- Texas wide receiver commit DeSean Hales talks about how practice has gone early in the week, what position he will play during Saturday's game, his impressions on Jamaal Charles' decision to leave UT early for the NFL Draft and much more in this exclusive interview with Inside Texas.

IT: How has practice been going for you guys this week?

DeSean Hales: It's been really fun getting to know some of the guys. I'm just kind of sore because I've been out of it for a while. I'm just trying to get back in the groove of things.

IT: What position have you been working at this week?

Hales: Straight receiver is all I have been doing and punt returns.

IT: How have you matched up with some of the other receivers down here?

Hales: I think I have done pretty well.

IT: I just talked to Antoine Hicks and he told me that you, him and Jarvis (Humphrey) have been hanging out a lot. What can you say about those guys?

Hales: They are good guys. They are fun to be around. I have a good time with them, and I can't wait for them to be my teammates up at Texas.

IT: What do you think about Jamaal Charles declaring for the NFL Draft?

Hales: I wish the best of luck to him. I'm sorry that we couldn't have at least one year together, but I wish him the best of luck though.

IT: What are you expecting out of your first year at Texas?

Hales: I'm expecting to see some playing time, but I know to get anything you have to work at it. I'm not expecting to just to walk in there and play. I'm expecting to work for it and earn my playing time.

IT: Are you planning on graduating early?

Hales: I'm staying for the rest of my senior year.
