Junior Georgia Tackle Is Thinking Texas

SAN ANTONIO -- Hampton (Ga.) Lovejoy junior left tackle Andre Harris talks about his scholarship offers, interest in Texas and a planned trip to Austin during an exclusive interview with Inside Texas.

IT: What are your measurables?

Andre Harris: I'm 6-4, 332 pounds.

IT: What schools have offered you?

Harris: I have offers from Central Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech.

IT: Do you have any interest in Texas?

Harris: Yes sir. I've always wanted to go to Texas. They haven't offered me yet. They've been talking to me a little while, but I've always wanted to go to Texas.

IT: What do you like about Texas?

Harris: I like the atmosphere. I love just being down here in the country. Everybody's humble. I just like being down here.

IT: What else do you know about Texas?

Harris: I know Vince Young went there and he went pro. They have a lot of offensive lineman that go pro. That's something I like about them. I just like being around Texas. Just staying near home. It's close here. I want to stay down south.

IT: Do you have favorite schools?

Harris: The SEC. That's all the way.

IT: Who are you comparable to as a player?

Harris: People compare me to Alabama's Andre Smith because my body is just like his. It looks like I can't play, but I have to show everybody I can. I'm pretty fast for my size also.

IT: Do you have any idea what your commitment timeline will be?

Harris: I'm undecided. Sometimes I want to just commit during the summer and then I just want to wait it out just because something else might come in.

IT: Do you plan to stop by Texas during this trip?

Harris: Yes sir. I plan on it. Just to check it out.
