The first two months of the year are arguably the most important recruiting months for the Texas Longhorns. Coming up in February, UT will hold their annual junior days. Has Austin LBJ linebacker Kerry Hyder received an invite?
Linebacker Kerry Hyder
had an outstanding junior season at Johnson High School in Austin. He racked up 153 tackles, recorded five sacks and snagged two interceptions on his way to First Team All-District honors. However, Hyder has yet to receive his first scholarship offer.
He mentioned Arkansas, Florida State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Michigan and Minnesota as schools that he is interested in. However, Texas is on the top of his list.
"I went to UT a lot," Hyder said when asked if he checked out any schools during football season. "They are my top school."
Hyder talked about what makes the Longhorns so special.
"They've got tradition, and they have a lot of school pride at UT. They are winners it seems like every year."
Junior days are starting to roll around and Hyder will be heading to Austin in early February.
"I'm going to UT's junior day on February 10th," Hyder said. "I've been counting down the days."
