"I'm looking forward to it," Walters said about his upcoming junior day visit in Austin. "I know that Texas doesn't offer any kids until after signing day, and there has been talk about getting an offer when I get up there for their junior day. I'm definitely looking forward to it."
Walters has been invited and will attend Texas' junior day on the 10th of February. He has made it no secret in the past that the schools that have already offered (Arizona, Baylor, Texas A&M and Texas Tech) are at the top of his list. Where would the Longhorns rank if they were to extend an offer during his junior day visit?
"They would definitely be number one or two in the rankings," Walters said.
However, Longhorn fans should not look for the big guy to commit during his junior day visit. Walters is planning on visiting schools over the summer and possibly taking some official visits in the fall.
"My deal is that I don't want to commit early. I want to go to all of the schools. I want to get out this summer and check out some out-of-state schools or take some of my official visits and learn more about what colleges from across the country are like and make a better decision for myself."
An offer from the Longhorns would definitely change Walters' list a bit, but it shouldn't hurt Texas Tech's chances of landing one of the Lone Star State's best offensive tackles.
"The only way you can evaluate that is by looking at the level of interest, and Tech has definitely shown the most interest in me to this point. So right now, I would have to say Texas Tech," Walters said when ask if there was any school standing out more than the others.
