Still Thinking Burnt Orange?

After Beaumont West Brook's Christian Michael camped at Texas over the summer, he seemed to know where he wanted to play his college ball. He even went out on a limb and said that if UT offered, he would likely commit. Is that still the case?

"Yes sir," Christian Michael said when asked if Texas was still his favorite. "I've kind of been looking at LSU as well. They came down recently and have been talking and texting me. They have been keeping up."

Michael has yet to receive his first scholarship offer, but that could change in the near future as several schools have been showing increased interest.

"LSU is coming down tomorrow morning, and the University of Texas is coming to see me tomorrow afternoon," Michael said.

Michael has received junior day invites at Texas, LSU and Texas A&M. He said he was likely going to make visits to Austin and Baton Rouge but isn't quite as sure about taking a trip to College Station.

Asked if he would likely make an early decision, Michael said, "I'll probably wait awhile, maybe the beginning of my senior season."

Michael ran for 1,125 yards on only 125 carries and scored 30 touchdowns in 2007, earning him District MVP honors.
