Football recruiting:

Texas Taking a Look at Another Big Receiver
Finding a receiver with the rare combination of height and speed is difficult, but the Texas coaching staff is looking to land another big wideout in Terdema Ussery from St. Mark's, the same private school in Dallas where the Longhorns found Sam and Emmanuel Acho.

Seed talk: Should UT be considered for a No. 1?
Houston Chronicle
This is the time of season when teams begin jockeying for NCAA Tournament seeding. The No. 11 Longhorns added to their impressive resume with a 72-69 victory over No. 3 Kansas on Monday night. They also have wins this season over UCLA and Tennessee (two teams I have under consideration for No. 1 seeds).

Texas gets a statement win
Austin American-Statesman
Texas guard Brittainey Raven thought she had enough energy for a robust chest bump to celebrate the Longhorns' 61-51 victory over Big 12 Conference co-leader Baylor on Wednesday night. But after the bump, her legs gave way and she fell on her backside. Still, a physically drained Raven was mentally ebullient after the game, knowing that her 18 points, including back-to-back three-pointers late in the second half, helped secure possibly the most important victory of the season for her team.

UT women upset No. 8 Baylor
Dallas Morning News
Texas sophomore Brittainey Raven of North Crowley was so elated after Wednesday night's 61-51 victory over No. 8 Baylor, she lost her balance and collapsed on the court after jumping into the air to celebrate with teammate Crystal Boyd.

Longhorns surprise No. 8 Bears
San Antonio Express-News
Brittainey Raven's shots were falling, and so was she. The Texas guard celebrated the Longhorns' 61-51 victory over No. 8 Baylor on Wednesday by meeting Crystal Boyd with a leaping chest bump. Then Raven promptly crumbled to the Erwin Center court.

Texas fends off No. 8 Bears
Daily Texan
The waning seconds of Wednesday's game played out in familiar fashion. The Longhorns held a close 55-51 lead with under a minute to go, committed a late turnover and Baylor's Angela Tisdale let off a 3-pointer. But unlike in Texas' 61-60 loss in Waco two weeks ago, Ashley Lindsey's giveaway was negated by a Brittainey Raven steal and Tisdale's trey clanked off the rim and the Longhorns were able to preserve their 61-51 win over the No. 8 Bears at the Erwin Center.

Think Pink night more than promotion for Texas guard Raven
Daily Texan
Texas guard Brittainey Raven couldn't fight off the tears when asked what this game meant to her. Who could blame her? The "Think Pink" game honoring the fight against breast cancer meant something extra special to Raven, who lost her grandmother to the disease. The sophomore guard came out and honored her grandmother by delivering an inspiring performance. The sophomore guard led all scorers with 18 points in Texas' 61-51 win over Baylor on "Think Pink" night.

Horns hand Baylor rare loss to unranked team, 61-51
Waco Tribune-Herald
Just two weeks ago, Baylor's defense took Brittainey Raven completely out of her game. On Wednesday night, the sophomore guard found it at just the right time, hitting four huge shots in the last 7 1/2 minutes to lift the Texas Longhorns to a 61-51 upset of the eighth-ranked Lady Bears before a crowd of 7,561 at the Frank Erwin Center.

'Somebody is lying in spectacular fashion'
Associated Press
Roger Clemens was told he didn't sound believable. Brian McNamee was branded a "drug dealer" and reminded of past lies. With Congress apparently split over which man's version of events is true, it could be up to the Justice Department to decide.

Clemens' credibility takes a crippling hit from shaky testimony
Dallas Morning News
Roger Clemens' days as a Texas legend are over. Nolan Ryan will have to pass the torch to someone else.
