"Honestly, I'm not sure what's going through their heads right now about me," Allen said. "I'm just hoping to go down there and get some good news about them offering."
Allen isn't ruling out the possibility of an early commitment, but as of right now the plan is to take his time.
"I wouldn't say that it's a strong possibility, but anything could happen," Allen said when asked if he would consider committing to Texas if offered. "I'm not ruling anything out. There is a possibility that that could happen, but I don't necessarily see myself doing that. I want to take my time."
Allen has already attended junior days at both Texas A&M and Oklahoma. He talked about his perceptions of both programs.
"At Texas A&M, the thing that got me the most about the trip was it was the most at home I've felt on a college campus," Allen said.
"Then the Oklahoma trip, it was very in detail. They showed us almost everything about the program, and I got to meet all the coaches," Allen added. "I can see why they win year in and year out."
The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Allen finished his junior season with 123 tackles and six sacks.
