Another Offer Out

The Texas Longhorns hosted some of the state's top linebackers this weekend and one of the best walked away with a scholarship offer. Who was it?

Irving MacArthur linebacker Tariq Allen came into Texas' second junior day with offers from both Texas A&M and Oklahoma. The Longhorns have now thrown their name into the Allen sweepstakes extending an offer.

"Yeah, I received an offer," Allen said. "I told Coach Brown thanks, but that I would like to keep my options open."

Allen currently holds offers from Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Kansas and Purdue. He is also receiving a lot of attention from Boston College, Michigan, Louisville and Nebraska.

Asked about a time frame for a decision, Allen said, "I'll probably go through spring practice. After that, I will weigh my options and try to make a decision."
