It's about 7:30 a.m. and I am eating breakfast with the head coach of LSU. He explained to me the situation at quarterback and that they are looking for the next guy. I realize half of it is recruiting talk, but still I have an opportunity to come in and compete to be the starting quarterback of an SEC school a school that has won two national titles in the past 5 years as well play for a school with strong tradition and amazing fans. That sounds good to me.
It's 9:30 a.m. and I am really impressed. I just sat down with the professor of the Marketing Program and no other school has done that. Football is not going to last forever and to sit down with an expert of my major was a very good impression on my family and me.
Now it is about 12:30 p.m. and this stadium is amazing. I love it. As I walked down the campus street, some fans were screaming ‘We want you!' That was a feeling I have never felt before and it was exciting, but very humbling. This school has every thing I need there isn't nothing wrong with it. They want me to play quarterback and they don't have a million quarterbacks. They feel I could come and make a big impact. Amazing academics and I have family down there. It is only 3 hours away from my home and did I mention they want me to play QUARTERBACK!

I had so much fun at LSU so I spent a night again. It's about 7:45 a.m., and before we left I ate with coach (Les) Miles…again. His wife and kids were there as well. When we were done (about 9 a.m.), I felt like it was a good place and I loved it, period. It's about 4 p.m. and I have had about 10 phone calls from different people asking about how the trip was and were they stand. My dad talked to coach (Ken) Norton Jr. at USC and he loves that man. He said, "Russell, we definitely have to go to USC."

Man I am getting a little heated after I read some of the articles that some writers are writing about me. I am getting the impression that people think I am playing a recruiting game. I'm here to let you guys know that I don't play games. I am an honest and straight-up person.
When I went to Texas, if they would have told me I was going to play quarterback, I would of committed. Before all that, I loved the school and they were my clear cut favorite. When I went up to Texas A&M, I didn't have a No. 1 school any more. So when I went up there, I was impressed with the coaching staff and they took over as my favorites.
This past weekend I went up to LSU and I didn't see a flaw anywhere. and They had every thing I want and they are perfect for me right now. I don't play with this because this is going to determine my life and this is where I will be for the next 4 to 5 years of my life. So if you think I am playing games, I'm not. It's my life and I don't play with my life at all. So when I said I almost committed, I was honest. The only thing that held me back was the fact that I haven't seen some other schools yet. So for every one who wants to know who is my top school it is.........LSU!!!!
