Huntsville Linebacker Takes in Texas

With another junior day complete in Austin, a few athletes walked away with news that the Longhorn program was officially making an offer while others were still on the ‘watch' list. Huntsville LB Kirby Ennis was in town for the February 23 junior day and walked away impressed. Did he also leave with an offer?

With a solid junior season behind him, Huntsville (TX) linebacker Kirby Ennis is being actively recruited by several major programs across the country. Here recently, he took part in junior days at Texas.

While in Austin, Ennis was looking to pull in offer No. 1. So, did it happen?

"The junior day at Texas was pretty good, but I did not get an offer," Ennis said. "I liked seeing the way they (Texas players) practice."

Despite not receiving an offer, the 6-foot-4, 238-pound Ennis still has the Longhorns at the top of his list. He also has interest coming from Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and LSU. With LSU, Ennis is working to try and get down to Baton Rouge to check things out

But as far as he is concerned with Texas, he plans to just wait it out.

"They (Texas coaches) said they plan to come see me during spring practice," Ennis said. "Right now, all I can do is wait to see if an offer is coming. I try and call them every chance I get and let them know I am interested in being at Texas. It is like a family down there and at UT, they take good care of you.

"It's just an all-around good school."

As a junior, Ennis recorded 96 tackles, five sacks, and an interception.

Ennis also plays basketball for Huntsville. Here are photos of him in action this week on the hardwood:
