Okafor's Decision Coming Soon

After checking out the Texas campus at a UT Junior Day, Pflugerville defensive end Alex Okafor (6'5, 230, 4.6) took a visit to LSU. The Longhorn target talked about his visit to Death Valley, his top schools, which school he'd still like to see and when he plans on making his decision.

"The visit went well," said Alex Okafor. "There were a lot kids there, but the coaches kind of pulled me off to the side to talk about things. They said they were really interested in me and they wanted me to be a part of their team.

"I enjoyed the talks," Okafor added. "Each coach had his own personality. It's a pretty diverse coaching staff."

The defensive standout ended his tour of the LSU campus impressed, but he was not the only one.

"I liked LSU's academic center," Okafor said. "I think it was the one Shaq donated or something, but my mom was most impressed. She liked how they provide a tutor for every class. It seems like it would be hard not to succeed at LSU."

The talented student-athlete now hold offers from nine teams: LSU, Texas, Stanford, Auburn, Oklahoma, Boston College, Baylor, Texas Tech, and Nebraska

"LSU, Texas and Stanford are still my top three though," said Okafor.

The 4-star defensive end has taken trips to Texas and LSU thus far and is scheduled for one more visit, this one to the west coast.

"I am visiting Stanford this weekend," said Okafor. "I want to make my decision within a month or so. I'd like to get it out of the way by spring time so I can focus on my school work and my team.

"I think those three visits will be my only three before my decision," Okafor continued. "A few other schools are appealing to me, but right now I think LSU, Texas and Stanford will be my only visits. My decision will probably come between mid-March to early April."
