Augustin picks up Cousy award, fields questions

D.J. Augustin shared a stage Monday with the 2008 Basketball Hall of Fame class. Augustin, the Longhorns sophomore, was recipient of the Bob Cousy Award, given annually to the top college point guard in the nation by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass.

Texas point guard D.J. Augustin said Monday that he expects to make a decision about going to the NBA or returning for his junior season in "a week or two." Augustin was in San Antonio before the NCAA championship game to receive the Bob Cousy Award, presented to the nation's top point guard.

Wins for Augie Garrido are like cars in Austin's rush hour traffic - they just keep piling up. Tonight Garrido's Longhorns will try to earn him his 500th victory at Texas. In his 12th season on the 40 Acres, Garrido's record is 499-241-1 (.673).
