"I've been to Texas' spring game," Guy said. "I really liked the atmosphere. Everything was family oriented, and I loved the facilities."
Guy met with Texas defensive assistant Oscar Giles during the visit and Giles made it clear to Guy that he was near the top of the Longhorns' wish list in 2010.
"I talked to Texas' defensive line coach," Guy said. "Coach Giles said that I'm at the top of the boards for 2010."
Guy said that he would likely return to Austin for summer camp. He grew up as a Longhorn fan and made it clear who sits atop his list early in the process.
"Yep, they are number one," Guy said of Texas.
Recruiting won't get into full swing until September, but Guy already knows what he is looking for.
"I would love to be close to home," Guy said. "The school I choose would have to have great academics."
Guy earned Second Team All-District honors as a sophomore. He described his strengths from the defensive tackle position.
"My power," Guy said. "I think I have pretty good feet and I think a lot on the field."For Jay Guy, it's probably not too early to be thinking about recruiting.
