2010 Quarterback Favors Texas
Nine months out from Signing Day, the 2009 class is nearly complete, meaning 2010 recruiting is already ramping up for the Longhorns. When Texas held its spring game, most of the '09 commits were in Austin, as was a select group of high school sophomores. Among them was Klein quarterback Jamie Peebles, who has UT at the top of his list.

DJ Monroe, Wildcats have fast times in Austin
It was the fall of 2004 when these eyes first saw the blur of one DJ Monroe at Wildcat Stadium in Angleton. Monroe took a handoff as an eighth-grader for the young Wildcats, and raced untouched up the middle for a 75-yard touchdown. For Monroe, it wasn't anything new because he had been having those type of performances since reaching the Angleton Intermediate stage. But there was something about the way he ran with the ball that made me think the Angleton varsity Wildcats just might have a special athlete coming their way. Monroe turned out to be a gem for them not only on the gridiron but on the oval track as well.
No first-round receiver? Young says no problem
The Tennessee Titans have been criticized for not drafting a wide receiver in the first round to help Vince Young. Asked for his thoughts on that subject, the quarterback said Friday he has enough help. Now the challenge is for him to improve.
