Is Texas Still in the Running for Brent?
South Oak Cliff safety Kevin Brent left Austin with an offer from Texas, but as of late there have been indications that he's been leaning much stronger towards the Oklahoma Sooners. Are the Longhorns still in the hunt for the nation's No. 4-ranked safety.

Adam Shead: ‘I Love Texas'
The Longhorns have received a commitment from a big man from Cedar Hill High School in each of the last two recruiting classes. In 2008, Texas signed defensive tackle Jarvis Humphrey. A couple of weeks later, the Horns received a verbal from offensive tackle Thomas Ashcraft. If Adam Shead has anything to say about it, the streak of Cedar Hill commits will likely continue in 2010.


Benson's bad act doesn't warrant action by Goodell

Congratulations go out to commissioner Roger Goodell for bringing some real discipline to the National Football League. His emphasis on punishing the league's rule-breakers has brought a new level of accountability to the NFL and has made many owners think twice before using those coveted first-round draft picks on players of questionable character. Like him or not, Goodell is taking a hard stance... But Goodell should not confuse those serial lawbreakers with Chicago running back Cedric Benson.
