Aaron Johnson Favors Two

Longview High School in Texas will likely have several Division I prospects on its roster next season, and 2010 quarterback Aaron Johnson could be the best of the bunch. Johnson is a versatile athlete and already has several top notch programs near the top of his recruiting wish list.

The 6-foot-1, 178-pound Aaron Johnson spent last season snagging footballs from his slot receiver position, but this year he will be airing the ball out. Johnson was unsure about his stats from his sophomore season, but his athleticism and 4.6 speed have a lot of programs interested from the get go.

"Our spring game is this Friday," Johnson told IT. "There have been some schools that have come out to practice. I know Texas came out recently and U of H Houston. There have been quite a few really."

Seeing some of the members from Texas' coaching staff at practice more than likely put a smile on Johnson's face, as the Longhorns are one of two teams he mentioned when asked about schools he knew he would take a look at when recruiting rolls around.

"If they take a look back, I would say Texas and Florida. Those are my main two," Johnson said.

When asked about what he liked about the Longhorns and the Gators, Johnson replied, "Since I was young, I have always admired those schools and their accomplishments."

Johnson said he was unsure at this time whether or not he would head to any summer camps, but he did talk about his strengths at the quarterback position.

"Making the right reads," Johnson said. "I can get out of the pocket and still be able to make plays."

Johnson is a cousin of current Longhorn running back Vondrell McGee and has already visited the UT campus.
