The Texas Longhorns currently have one receiver, Eisenhower's Greg Timmons, committed for the Class of 2009, but that could change. Uzoma Nwachukwu will be at a Texas camp this summer and has been told by Longhorn coaches that "an offer is possible."

UT's Russell drafted by Dodgers
Kyle Russell wasn't born a Dodger, but he was one shortly after birth. "That was my T-ball team," Russell said. "That was my first baseball team." Perhaps it will be his last. Russell, who just finished his junior year at Texas, was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday in the third round of the MLB first-year player draft.
Postseason exits in regional round are not acceptable
Texas fans should be used to this by now. For the third year in a row after winning the national title in 2005, Texas failed to make it out of the regionals. This year it was at the hands of Rice, a team that has proven they're better than the Longhorns this year by defeating them twice earlier in the season. Last season it was the Cinderella squad of UC-Irvine that sent Texas packing, and before that it was Stanford, both teams Texas should have handled those years. At least Rice was an improvement. Texas went from losing back-to-back regionals they were supposed to win in Austin to losing a regional that they really had no business being in.
