Timmons' performance on Sunday received a fair amount of praise from his future teammates, showing exactly why Mack Brown and company chose him to be their main man in 2009.
"I did enough to show why they picked me as their main guy," Timmons said. "I tried to showcase my skills. I showed all I could and just went out and had fun."
Timmons got a chance to go one-on-one with several of Texas' 2009 defensive back commits and, according to the Eisenhower wide receiver, Clear Creek defensive back Marcus Davis proved exactly why his is tabbed as a five-star prospect.
"Marcus Davis," Timmons said when asked who stood out at camp. "He impressed me by how he stays on his man in man-to-man coverage."
Shortly after Timmons gave his verbal to the Longhorns back in February, rumors began to swirl concerning just how solid he was in his commitment to Texas. Since then, Timmons has squashed those rumors and turned his focus to his senior season.
"Yeah, pretty much," Timmons said when asked if he was done with the recruiting process. "My main goal is to focus on getting my team ready for my senior season. I'm pretty much done with recruiting."
