What Do the "Or's" Really Mean?
When Texas released it's first depth chart of the 2008 season this week, 20 "or's" showed up on a three-deep covered with co-starters and co-backups. On Wednesday, Texas head coach Mack Brown addressed whether having that many "or's" is a good or a bad sign as the opener against Florida Atlantic approaches.

Longhorns' running game has interchangeable pieces
Fort Worth Star-Telegram
When Jamaal Charles left for the NFL last spring, it left the Texas Longhorns without much of a clue how their running game would look. That hasn't changed much. With the season opener against Florida Atlantic two days away, Texas plans to platoon Vondrell McGee, Chris Ogbonnaya and Fozzy Whittaker at running back, where Charles gained 1,619 yards on 258 carries last season.

Breaking down the Texas Longhorns
Fort Worth Star-Telegram
Texas has enough potential playmakers to contend for a Big 12 title, but only if several of the younger ones mature quickly. The Longhorns, who are coming off a 10-3 season, need immediate production at linebacker, defensive back, wide receiver and running back from players who were under-the-radar performers in 2007. If the fresh faces come through and QB Colt McCoy cuts back on interceptions (18 last season), Texas could win a South Division title. If not, the Longhorns will be hard-pressed to win 10 games again this season.

Associated Press
Sergio Kindle's Texas teammates have seen him smash through blocks, crush ball carriers and scare the devil out of quarterbacks. The problem is, he's done most of it in practice.
