Poll Report: A Big Shakeup

Eight Top 25 teams, including three of the top four, all lost this week, causing a big shakeup in the polls that had the Texas Longhorns land at No. 5.

USC, Georgia and Florida were all upset, meaning the top five looks very different this week.

With their 35-10 win over TCU on Saturday, the Oklahoma Sooners moved up to take that top spot in both the AP and Coaches poll. After that there's some disagreement.

In the Coaches, the LSU Tigers are in position to defend their national title, coming in at No. 2. They are followed by Missouri at No. 3, Alabama at No. 4 and the Texas Longhorns at No. 5 (who also have themselves one first-place vote in the Coaches Poll).

In the AP, Alabama is at No. 2, two spots up from their No. 4 ranking in the Coaches Poll. LSU is third, followed by Missouri and Texas.

But no matter how you slice it, that makes three Big 12 teams in the top five. A fourth conference team, Texas Tech, is not far behind, ranked at No. 7 in the AP and No. 8 in the Coaches. Kansas is at No. 16 in each poll and for the first time this season a sixth conference team makes the Top 25. The 4-0 Oklahoma State Cowboys are now in the rankings, falling in at No. 21 in the AP and No. 22 in Coaches.
