Football opponents love to blitz against Longhorns
Texas offensive coordinator Greg Davis has studied all the nuances of the Oklahoma State defense. He might be tempted to toss aside the tendencies, though, as he creates a game plan for Saturday. So far this season, it's been all about the blitz and how teams have used it against the top-ranked Longhorns.
Kirk Bohls: Longhorns have superb chemistry
The game was well in hand, the outcome having been decided about the time Missouri came out for the pregame coin toss. But when backup sophomore quarterback John Chiles completed a 51-yard touchdown strike to backup freshman receiver Dan Buckner late in the fourth quarter, the Longhorns' sideline virtually exploded. Among the first racing onto the field for the ensuing celebration were Colt McCoy and Jordan Shipley, one the Heisman Trophy frontrunner and the other the star of Texas' statement victory over Oklahoma. Two leaders leading. You can't coach that. And you can't fake it either.

Texas offense goes to great lengths
San Antonio Express-News
For one play against Oklahoma two weeks ago, it looked like Texas center Chris Hall was just playing in the dirt. Hall was tripped near the line of scrimmage, but instead of staying on the ground, he rose to a crawl and followed the play. He reached out — arms splaying one way, legs another — trying to disrupt any Sooners in his path. "I mean, it was ugly," UT offensive coordinator Greg Davis said. "But it was effort." And the top-ranked Longhorns find that beautiful.

Collins becomes reliable target
Being one of Texas' leading receivers was never Brandon Collins' dream. Growing up, the sophomore always wanted to play basketball at North Carolina. He might not be the next Michael Jordan, but Collins could be the third wide receiver the No. 1 Longhorns have been looking for to go along with seniors Jordan Shipley and Quan Cosby.
OSU controls own destiny
The Bowl Championship Series makes for strange bedfellows. This season is particularly strange, but nothing is stranger than Bedlam bedfellows. With four Big 12 teams ranked in the top eight of the most recent BCS standings, fans throughout the South Division will be cheering out of both sides of their mouths the next six weeks.
Moss tie-in snagged Bryant
Dez Bryant exemplifies exactly the type of recruiting plunder Oklahoma State must pull off on a regular basis. And it's exactly the type of recruiting pull OSU can develop by reaching the heights it has climbed to this season.
'Horns to test OSU's tailbacks
O-State's run attack and Texas' run defense, each among the nation's best, will clash on Saturday. Texas ranks No. 2 nationally in run defense. The Longhorns have allowed only 48.1 rushing yards per game. The Oklahoma State rushing attack is the fifth-most productive in college football. It should make for an interesting competition on Saturday, when the No. 1 Longhorns host seventh-ranked OSU in a 2:30 p.m., ABC-televised clash of unbeaten Big 12 teams.
Darius Terrell Will Get a Texas Offer
Texas never officially offers until the previous class has signed, but many elite players on the Horns' list get approved for an offer long before then. One of those players is DeSoto wide receiver Darius Terrell, who had been told by the Longhorns that he will get a Texas offer for the class of 2010.
