By the Numbers: Mack Versus the Aggies

Thursday night's game between the Texas Longhorns and the Texas A&M Aggies will be the 115th meeting dating back to 1894. The game will be the 61st time that the two teams will meet on Thanksgiving Day and the first since 1993. Texas has won six of the last eight meetings, but the Longhorns have dropped the last two to the Aggies despite being double digit favorites in both games.

Mack Brown holds a 7-3 record versus the Aggies in his first ten contests.  That is a marked improvement over the previous ten seasons where Jackie Sherrill and R.C. Slocum led Texas A&M to its own 7-3 record against the Longhorns.  In the most recent ten years, Coach Brown has had success over both Aggie head coaches.  Brown was 3-2 versus Dennis Franchione and 4-1 versus Slocum.
