The Duncanville Panthers entered the 2008 McDonald's Texas Invitational as the #1 basketball team in the country. Expectations were high for the Panthers coming into the tournament and they mowed down opponents to earn a spot in the championship game where they met last year's state semifinalist San Antonio Madison. Future Texas Longhorn Shawn Williams led the way for the Panthers.
Although Duncanville was beaten in overtime by San Antonio Madison to finish second in the tournament, Texas
Longhorn signee Shawn Williams
produced big numbers for the Panthers. Williams, the #44 prospect in the 2009 class, has been the leader of the talented Duncanville team for the last two seasons.
Burnt Orange Beat was in the gymnasium for several tournament games and captured this video of the future Longhorn star.
